I am Professor (Research Focused) in the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) at the University of Warwick https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/pais/people/cochrane/ I am working with colleagues on the ‘Inclusive Peace’ research project. This is a comparative international study examining the ways in which peace settlements are negotiated, evolve and perform over time and how citizen preferences for political reform can be assessed. I am also Professor Emeritus in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent and Senior Research Fellow in the Conflict Analysis Research Centre (CARC) at the University of Kent.
From 2012-2019 I was Director of CARC and Deputy Head of the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent. I have also held academic positions at Lancaster University, Ulster University and Queen’s University Belfast.
From 2017-2020 I was Vice Chair of the Political Studies Association (PSA)
I was born and educated in Belfast, Northern Ireland
